Transportation to La Paz, Mexico

travel-to-la-pazThere are a variety of ways to get to La Paz.  You can opt to fly, bus, drive, or take a ferry to this beautiful destination.  Here is some reference information for your planning needs.

By Air

The easiest way to get to La Paz is to fly directly to General Marquez de Leon Airport (LAP), which is located 15 minutes from downtown. With that said, direct flights are infrequent and generally more expensive than flying to San Jose del Cabo (SJD).

By Bus

There is a bus service from San Jose del Cabo to La Paz. The bus is pretty comfortable with reclining seats and a bathroom. It usually takes a little over 3 hours. Check out their schedule at:

By Private Car
A Safe Ride provides service in Baja Sur . The drivers are  English speaking and  professional.
Service area includes
-Los Cabos -La Paz -LaVentana -Comitan -Los Barriles -La Ribera -Cabo Pulmo -Todo Santos and any place in between

Casa República apartments, one of the nicest places you can rent  in La Paz, are approximately six blocks towards the ferry from the bus terminal at Cinco de Mayo/Abasolo (Malecon).

Highways 1 (south) and 9 (west) link La Paz to the tourist destinations of Todos Santos, San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. Highway 1 north takes travelers towards the towns of Loreto and the rest of El Norte.

    It is quite easy to stay in La Paz. The airport is 15 minutes from the center of town. for many people it is less expensive to fly into San Jose Del Cabo (SJD). If you fly into Cabo renting a car is a piece of cake and very inexpensive. The drive is easy – If you prefer there is a bus that can take your directly from the airport in Cabo to La Paz… also, If there are several of you, 4- or more check out the limo service on our website
